Monzo Login (IOS app)

I only use Monzo when I go abroad and only log on periodically between trips to make sure that everything's in order. I've noticed this year that login is a bit of a palaver as I've needed to input my email address, click on a link within the email that is then sent and then enter my pin. I don't recall it being like that until recently (although I could have just forgotten). I haven't found any setting that would make logging on easier but an admittedly quick search on this forum for answers hasn't shown this to be an issue for anyone else.

It's no big deal as I can log on and have other overseas cards that I can use if needed but I wondered whether anyone else had found a way to quicken the log on process.

Have you enabled biometric log in? I.e. Face ID or Touch ID? I have Face ID enabled, and as long as you don’t log out/delete the app/try to use it on a different device, it is very quick to go back into the app

Thanks. I normally log out but I didn’t log out last time and I was straight in this time. That must be the answer.

I believe there has been a change with Monzo logins recently. I've had an account with them for several years and I don't remember having to log in again unless I installed the app on a new phone. This has changed in the last few months and the app now asks me to log in again every couple of weeks. I have biometric login enabled on my (iOS) app but it still asks me to go through the procedure of logging in via an email link. This can be inconvenient when you need to do something quickly on the app.

I've never had to log in since installing the app over a year ago. I only ever use it with Apple Pay, don't know if that makes any difference.

My wife and I have been with Monzo for two years and we've only had to use the email link when first setting it up. After that we can go straight in with face I'd or a fingerprint.

We do use the app multiple times a day, maybe if it was used infrequently then iOS might offload it to save space, possibly requiring it to be setup on next use?
