Hi all.
Need some help, please. I know beggars can't be choosers but I am looking for a very decent priced ( between £110-130) PC / Desktop Computer.
What am I looking for is, a faster PC but I don't know what RAM or ROM should I accept these days. I bought mine for £70.00 6 years ago and now it's properly sluggish. Each page takes about 6-7 mins to load. Sad it won't even allow me into the setting to find out what the specs of my PC are.
my old PC is Dell Optiplex 780. It has :
1) Headphone jack (at back and front)
2) 4 USB ports
3) No TF card slot
4) NO built in wifi
5) NO Bluetooth
6) 2 Ethernet ports
7) 1 printer port
what i would like the 2nd hand PC to have additional is :
- built in WiFi
- built in Bluetooth
- a TF card slot
- a Win 10 OEM disk with the PC
- any other peripherals is a bonus.
& i guess that's it. Is there anyone that can provide me with ideas or if they know of any trustable website to purchase from ?.... EBAY or Amazon seems the best option to me.
I thank you all and await for anyone's reply.
Regards
AK

A Windows 10 OEM disk is pointless. If you need to install Windows again it is far better to download the latest install version direct from Microsoft which will have all the updates until that point baked in.

As you say Amazon Renewed is probably a good bet.
(Personally I steer well clear of Ebay). Here's a few decent looking ones in or under your price range currently on there:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Monitor-Dell-OptiPlex-Computer/dp/B01E97I7UO/
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Monitor-HP-i5-3470-Computer/dp/B084T2QN4R/
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Monitor-HP-i5-3470-Computer/dp/B084T33N2H/You don't get Windows 10 on a disc, (although you may get a recovery disc), it comes built into the machine and you can download it for free from Microsoft at any time if you need to reinstall it.
You don't even need to enter a licence key to reinstall Windows these days, your machine has a 'digital entitlement' and the reinstall just picks it up automatically.
The only time you need to buy a new Windows key is if the machine has never had Win 8,10, or 11 Activated on it before. eg. a machine that you have built yourself.
(You can actually run Windows without 'Activation', it's legal and I currently have one laptop that runs unactivated Windows 10 (It used to be Windows XP and I refurbished/upgraded it). The main thing is that unless Activated some of the customisation settings do not work, but there are other ways to customise Windows than those settings).

PS. If you do buy one without Bluetooth then just buy a Bluetooth dongle to plug into a USB port, you can get them for under £10.The same goes for a TF card adapter
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=TF+card+reader&crid=2ROFSPYFV975I&sprefix=tf+card+reader,aps,192&ref=nb_sb_noss_1TBH Although you haven't given any details I suspect that with a bit of knowledge and work you could probably get your current Dell running faster again. (I suspect that your hard drive is getting full so you may need a bigger one, and that things in general could do with a good updating).
But if you're not handy with tech, or are set on getting a new(er) one then fair enough.

When you say "best performing" do you mean for gaming? That's a while different thing to good for general internet browsing. The Dell 780 is a bit long in the tooth these days; I think I gave one away on freecycle last year.I've taken to using the Dell "micro"-sized models of late, as they are rather good.0

Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s PC Intel i5-8400 8GB 256GB SSD Windows 10 SFF #2 £105
Wifi and bluetooth just buy an adaptor.
Search AX1800 usb on ebay.
Bluetooth search bluetooth 5.3 on ebay
Or you can open the case and install yourself wifi card. Go to ebay and search m.2 AX210
Win 10 OEM. No one have those anymore. New PC don't even have DVD drive these day. Go to Microsoft create bootable usb yourself.
Also, have a look at facebook marketplace if you know what spec you are after and market price.1 -

Dell Optiplex 780 is now past it. I wouldn't spend any time trying to trouble shoot what's wrong with it.
You can get USB bluetooth, wifi, and SD card readers, for not a lot of money, so don't get side-tracked with that.

This, as posted by Cisco, looks like a reasonable option.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
