Solar Panel- Patio Problem

Hello
I am having free solar panels installed under a local council scheme by a third party. The savings will be relatively minor as it is a small terrace property, but it is free and every penny counts! In front of property is Indian sandstone with a paved drive to the side. I am now worried about possible damage to the sandstone, when the scaffolding is put up/taken down. I had a new boiler replaced last year and the installer just placed the old boiler pipework on a blanket on the sandstone, unfortunately I didn't notice until after he had gone, that where the blanket had been it had gouged pieces of the sandstone on one slab (I guess he must had just thrown the pipes on there). Now I am worried that the people who erect/remove the scaffolding could also damage it. Would I be able to get any guarantee from the installers? It may seem extreme but I'd rather cancel the installation than have to replace the patio. Looking for advice
Thanks in advance.

Scaffolding will probably be erected by a specialist company. They normally put short lengths of wood down under each vertical pole, so there shouldn't be any damage to the paving. You could ask them to use longer planks to spread the load. The biggest problem will be when they come to take the scaffolding down. Some will just lob the clamps in to a bucket as they work and sometimes miss - I have a couple of cracked pavers in my drive because of this. Insist that nothing is thrown, lobbed, or dropped on to the patio. Hopefully, you get a conscientious crew that will take care.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
