Scam

Not sure where to post this but today I received an unordered Amazon package with my name and address. My Amazon account balance is still there.  I don’t know how it works. Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do?  Can’t find the place to report to Amazon.  I have also reported some dodgy emails to phishing.uk. Thank you.

Is it at all possible that a well-meaning relative or friend has sent you a surprise gift without telling you?*  Do you have a special occasion or "special" birthday coming up?

I'd have to say I would have been so curious (or suspicious) that I would have just opened it to see what it was.  You have said it had your name and address on it?

*A totally stupid thing for someone to do without telling you, but it does happen...

No birthday or events expecting gifts, not something people I know would do anyway.  The Amazon parcel was heat thermal socks, 2 pairs.  Another parcel from a sock company arrived, then I got another knock on the door from a Courier with a massive box from Amazon.  I didn’t take details of that one as told Courier to take it back as I didn’t order.  He recorded on his machine that I returned as wasn’t me that ordered. I’ve reported others and changed password 🤞.

Has been known for Companies using Amazon to sometimes send out items for free in the hope of feedback.

But do go into your account & purchases & make sure there are not any hidden purchases.

    If you use Amazon.co.uk

    Check with Amazon.com

I got billed from the US branch a couple of months ago and you don't see the charge on the UK branch

Feeling stupid now. I contacted a different company I received something from.  They reminded me I signed up for a scheme from citizens advice for heat person not home.  As part of this they would send me some free items.  I totally forgot as over 2 months ago and no reminders or indicators where or when they would be coming.  I assumed a scam because of so many these days and how often do you get something for nothing? Anyway mystery solved 🙂.
    Ah.  Thanks

Hope you aren't kicking yourself now!

Hopefully it was 100 pairs of thermal socks and not some extravagant free gift!     :)
