Yes I have tried to contact the dealer and they have ignored me. 

I raised with AFS because it was them who alerted me to it when I phoned to check I was covered just for a minor service, and the recommended raising a complaint. 

I will try the dealership and go straight to a manager, as the guy who got me firstly tried to say I was wrong and then ignored me

Go in to dealer. They can not ignore you then.
