Raw Smart Meter Data (or an example)
Hi,
May be a long short and this is just really for academic interest. Is there anyway to see the exact data that my supplier pulls from the meter, in its raw form just as they receive it? Both usage and indexes.
Or alternatively just seeing an example would be helpful as well.
Just be clear this is for my own curiosity, it's not related to a dispute or anything.

Sign up to N3rgy.com. The smart meter data pull returns index readings and an XML file containing 30 minute usage data. Only the supplier can access index readings.1

Thanks. Any idea if I would be able to see a sample of the index data? Maybe I'll ask Octopus.0

The supplier gives you access to the data via the App and you can use the Export function.Qyburn said:Thanks. Any idea if I would be able to see a sample of the index data? Maybe I'll ask Octopus.

EDF allows you to download the raw data. I haven't done it yet but plan to at the end of the month to input it into my app that I used when tracking my use from manual readings before the smart meter. I intent to give N3rgy.com a go but it won't let me register at the moment. (it says there is a problem but my meter was only installed 12 days ago and it may not be showing yet - so I am checking it every few days until it does)
Edit: I just tried it N3rgy.com again now and its working.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks. I can download the consumption data from Octopus but it's a CSV file not XML, so if I understand correctly that's not the actual file they received. Does the XML pull include all registers, import and export, or only the ones in use?0

I confess that I have no idea. My knowledge is based on the fact that my Kaifa meter (along with a number of others) was returning empty XML files. As my billing is based on 30 minute usage data not index readings, this brought billing to a halt for nearly 7 months. It was resolved after 3 meter firmware updates.Qyburn said:Thanks. @Qyburn did you get anywhere with this - specifically were you able to get any export data from your smart meter? Thanks, Mike
