Thank goodness you posted the above Amanda65, as it reminded me to put my 'out-of-office' assistant on! So a big thanks from me!
My Christmas starts in 15mins time. I'm all ready - presents, shopping, the lot!0 -
Oops, that's just reminded me I HAVEN'T put my O.O.O. email message on! Ah well..
I finished work (until 27th) an hour ago and have already got showered and changed ready for a night out with friends. So it could be tonight... or 6.35pm on Christmas Eve when Shrek is on!!! :j
I think it'll have to be then as I still haven't finished my shopping!0 -
Mine started at lunchtime when i got a couple of hours to myself around the shops! now have picked up bubs, waiting for DH to get home, watching CBeebies and drinking a glass of wine!No work till 27th!Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help?

Ours started tonight, Dh has set up his new tv (early xmas present) hes finished work until the 3rd Jan, no more school morning routines!!!
Have opened one of the boxes of beer we have in, and plan to just chill out from now on in, apart from a few trips to the shops.
I too love xmas eve almost more than the day itself, i just love winding the kids up and we always go on a long countryside walk to wear than out so they go to sleep easier!!

Happy Christmas everyone!
I think Christmas has started here in the Thrift household. Our tree is up and looks and smells wonderful. We have coloured lights around the room, it all feels very festive. We've started on the booze too :beer:0 -

Christmas Eve when I finish work, at 1.30. Then I have to come home and make food for 7 visitors and clean the house, all before 5pm. We are spending christmas day on our own at home though relaxing.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Christmas Eve when I know that the shops have closed - and that whatever has been forgotten can stay that way!
I love the evening of Christmas Eve, wrapping presents and listening to music, Midnight Mass, back home again to peel the veggies and prep the stuffing while enjoying a couple of tipples of something yummy and a few choccies.0 -
mine is usually the weekend before xmas but i am in on xmas eve this year so it shall start at about 6pm when i finish work and i know i have 24hours to myself before i am back out to work for boxing day ~ oh the joys.
However i do prefer new year so i can wave bye to the horrid year that i wish never happened and can look forward to the new one. For that i get a full three days off plus the following weekend. If i liked a tipple i would be ok :rotfl:0 -
Was hoping it would be today as it was my first day off work and we've put the tree up and everything ......... but I'm getting over a stinky cold and have had loads to do and I'm knackered and not feeling remotely festive.
Hopefully I'll get the feeling tomorrow as me and the kids are going skating in the temporary ice rink in the city centre (brrrr). Most of my jobs are done now - I've just got some sweetie making to do on Christmas eve - so I'm looking forward to relaxing and enjoying it.0
