See Annex 4 here where the Warm Home Discount is shown as a charge of £10.30 per customer.

Do you know if that's collected solely from electricity SC, or spread over gas as well?

I think it's electricity only, but can't confirm that at the moment.

Would be interesting to know what the £255 million (administration) was spent on,
Admin cost more or less increased in line with revenue. Around 19% in both years shown. I don't think we know enough from the outside to simply conclude that these costs could be reduced. Or is allegation that they've inflated these figures in order to create a loss for some reason?
Their admin was £104 million back in 2017 with similar turnover to 2019 so around 12% of turnover.

    Dutch Sandwich crossed my mind?

Probably a reasonable explanation for it, I just wondered what it might be :)

It's a shame we don't get a full breakdown of our energy charges each year from our supplier, as we do our council tax from the county council (or equivalent) ... or maybe we do or it is readily available and I've missed it.

As we know from data comes information and from information comes knowledge.

We have had about 17 threads about the standing charge including the MSE one, plus the odd post here and there. There are mixed views and some strong ones regarding the very existence of the SC, but I'm afraid to say it would appear there are also some misinformed ones.

BTW I'm really grateful to the Forumites who dig out the data for us.
