EDF Smart Meter and Meters not working

My EDF smart meters haven’t been working for months, they now come out and have to read the meter like the old days, and they are simply not interested in resolving this, it’s been going on for months, I’ve now been to,d there are no appointments available for an EDF person to attend to repair!0

Had a similar problem with EDF after being transferred to them when Green Network Energy stopped. Spent months trying to get them to fix the Gas meter and they sent a smart meter man out who confirmed there was a problem. I resigned myself to just giving them manual readings. After about 18 months I moved to Octopus Energy, they fixed the problem within 2 days without me even asking. It now works fine. Octopus seem to be a lot more switched on to these issues.
If you try the same route I can get you £50 off with a referral code.
Good luck.0 -
My duel fuel smart meters were installed early in 2022 and since then accurate live data has been displayed on the EDF Energy hub for the grand total of less than 100 days. The IHD was replaced a long time ago but now lies totally redundant in a drawer.
I've already taken my case to the Energy Ombudsman but they basically found in favour of EDF who were instructed to award me a £50 inconvenience payment.
I declined the payment.
I do not want 'paying off' to keep quiet, I want what the promotional blurb promised me!
I frequently refer them to my rights under The Consumer Rights Act 2015 but they completely ignore this.
Like most EDF customers I find the repetitive nature of EDF responses irritating and patronising.
All I get is "I can see the signal has been intermittent.(Massive Understatement) We rely of the DCC to improve the network and we work with them to make the technology better to try and fix these issues. I am sorry we can't do anything further at this time but I hope we will improve the technology in the not so distant future so that we can connect with all our customers who currently have this same issue".
I've been receiving this type of response for over 18 months and it's clear to me that in 24 months since installation they have done precisely NOTHING to improve this problem. Could it be that the meters' integral software is simply not fit for purpose?
In fact, in my case it's recently got worse as EDF seem to be no longer able to receive remote meter readings so I have to take and send my own meter readings to avoid going into debt.
Finally, I think it's worth noting that, in all this time I have NEVER been offered an engineer visit and inspection of either of the meters!0 -
Complained several times to EDF that my smart meter isn't sending electricity readings. Have had 2 visits since installation when they 'reset' the meter still no luck. EDF basically saying "not our problem" although they were the ones that nagged me into having one. This means that I don't have access to many of the deals for cheaper electricity that require a working smart meter. So I am one of the 20% being penalized because of the inadequate system.0
