Eon insisting on replacing my E7 meter

    @CJScat Can you let us know if your meter is timer based or circuit switched?
    If you are unsure, then take a picture of your meter and post it here and the experts on this site will help identify it.

    I assumed it was not circuit switched when you said it doesn't power anything specific overnight.   However, it is best to be sure as it may have done once upon a time and the legacy wiring was left in place.

    You are right I wouldn't have a clue what type of meter I have. I have these fron when I took a reading last November.

    Your meter will be 21 years old in July which is why it's being replaced.  You also have a Radio Tele Switch (the big black box on the left) which is being phased out.
    No need to have a single rate meter because many if not most suppliers will happily bill a two rate meter at single rate.  If not, ditch & switch.
    Best to ask for a 5-terminal meter so that you can have outlets that are live only at low rate times, which might be handy at some point if you find a cheap E7 tariff.
