b and q wood cutting

I had a sheet of ply cut by b and q for a back panel, and its in 4 weird pieces that they suggested I glue together. When I brought it home for the carpenter to work with they were shocked that anyone would cut a back panel piece so strangely, its pretty much useless! I called and was told that they would probably replace or refund but on my arrival the building manager told me that it was the size I requested so they wouldn't do anything about it!
Have I got any grounds to push this further?

Struggling to visualise this to be honest, but would it be in the requested size only after being assembled from four separate pieces?  I'd have thought that it's a reasonable expectation that if you ask for a sheet to be cut to x by y mm, it would be in one piece, but can you perhaps share a photo?

Did you give the measurements you needed, did you just say cut it into xamount of pieces?
Each time I have used them it has been 400 x 750mm etc and then if any off cuts say do 2 pieces etc.

Why did you even take it away if it hadn't been cut how you wanted it?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Strange I use their cutting service a lot and they have never made suggestions, they just cut what I tell them.

I am tbh puzzled as to why they would suggest a cut your requested into four pieces, it just doesn't add up.
