You know, there is a part of me thinking that I'd much rather not spend my day off seeing the GP / dentist / optician / chiropodist, or my evening sorting out my home and car insurance, but it's all part of Adulting.

Another suggestion, find a solicitor in an area you can happily spend a day, book a morning appointment, then go and enjoy your day shopping / visiting the castle / going to the beach or whatever - maybe it's the real ale pub which calls?

It's not as if you'll spend all of a week's leave on it. And it is IMO too important to knock off in your lunch hour without outside input.
