Have never seen a slug in my garden so assumed it was ok, thought i would go out after dark just to check (11pm).
Got a shock as there were slugs everywhere, you had to watch where you were stepping.
Got the salt out and killed all the ones i could see (no salt anywhere near plants).
Got slug pellets today (Doff? any good?) could do with some advice on how to use them as they wont fit in my air pistol.

    🤣🤣🤣🤣   Too funny
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

You sprinkle them around the base of the plant in a vague circle (don't heap them up and don't think you need a solid ring). The idea is the slugs eat the blue sweeties rather than the plant then go away to die somewhere. They'll break down a bit in the rain but that's okay, you just replace them when they're completely gone (about a week give or take).

The other option is something called nematodes, which is a parasite you water onto the soil and infects the slugs. The other, other option is traditional beer traps and the like... or going out with salt/cold steel of an evening.

Unless there are literally armies of them, slugs aren't going to be too much trouble for a healthy rhubarb once established - you just need to get it established :)
