Can anyone help me please does anyone know if the NHS LSF can be reclaimed by the NHS if you had to pull out of a university course during covid?. I was under the impression it was a non refundable grant?. I only received first payment for the first term that was completed. Many thanks Paul.

It is but it's not unconditional, but there are a number of scenarios which could lead to over/under payments.
What exactly is it they are asking?
When did you start your course?
Did you receive/were eligible for student funding through SFE, and provide evidence of that?
Did you receive payments for any day(s) after you pulled out of your course?

Hi, you could contact the NHS Business Services Authority - info in the following link -

    https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/nhs-learning-support-fund-lsf

(Or whichever organisation you were paid by if that's not the one.)

Even though a grant isn't usually repayable, that usually applies if you finish your course of training. It's not clear what happens if you did not finish training.

It's best to contact them and find out exactly what your position is. You may even be able to continue your training, if that's what you'd like to do.

You still haven't said what the problem is. I'm assuming from  your dates and your mention of Covid you mean September 2020 - December 2020?
Are you being asked for partial or full repayment?
Did you complete the entire term or where there term days you failed to attend? (like a week or two at the end/start for example)
Have you officially left, if so when did the university record you as officially leaving.
Did you provide evidence of receiving or being entitled to receive funding through SFE?

    Does any of this apply to you;

Students who are not eligible for the NHS LSF
You will not be eligible for any NHS LSF payments if you are:
    • eligible for an NHS Bursary in the 2022/23 academic year; or
    • paid for time off by your employer to attend your course and you continue to receive a wage or salary whilst you train; or
    • in receipt of salary support as provided by an NHS trust or other NHS entity, including Health Education England, during any part of your course.
