So I've seen this
https://airgon.co.uk/
Is it perhaps any difference to the Magaclean devices? They say it works on any wet system so I'm not sure if that means it also works with heat pumps too
If I've already got a magaclean type device, would this device be basically unecessary?

it is different to a magnetic filter - those are designed to trap debris/particles. That device is designed to remove air/gas but your boiler system may already include an automatic air vent or you could simply bleed it manually ...1

Its one of these on a plastic bottle for £250 - https://www.screwfix.com/p/bottle-air-vent-15mm/34359. Cant really see the point.
lots more here for less than £10-£20 https://www.bing.com/shop?q=auto air vent valve&FORM=SSAT01&cvid=d3b2bd08dd2f44669ca163ede30c3129&originIGUID=93E28A4EF7144E479C53F7B46C5A25C0Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2 -

So something that's seriously overpriced but with some fancy marketing0 -
But it has a fancy Dyson cone effect.... Look at the charts they have comparing them to standard auto air bleeders......Or the data saying the is 90%less oxygen in the water?Sarcastic /0

Claims of 10-20% energy savings - Gonna call BS out on that... Had a look at the technical "document", and to be honest, the claims being made are fanciful (in my opinion). They do link to a (possibly) peer reviewed paper to support the claims... Unfortunately, the paper, whilst discussing the formation of air bubbles within a heating system, has little to do with the effects of efficiency - The paper concentrates on observations of air bubbles within pipework, specifically, in the bends. https://www.epj-conferences.org/articles/epjconf/abs/2014/04/epjconf_efm-13_02106/epjconf_efm-13_02106.htmlIf this device was truly capable of delivering a minimum of 10% savings, it would be high on the list of mandated improvements. As it is, just TRVs and (smarter) thermostats are a requirement when installing a boiler.
