As I may have to move into a smaller unit need to as what I need to do re my hard drive 
and what I would get for it if went to resell it 
And which Lap top would be best for me as easier carry around if moving from place to place

I'd probably say with all certainty that you may get approximately more or less than the average prevailing second-hand market value for your hard drive, and that depends entirely on the specification, age and condition of said hard drive along with your chosen platform to sell said hard drive. Keep in mind local and national market conditions at the time of sale.

This is easier, I'd suggest that the very best exact laptop for you that I would personally recommend would be either a new, used or reconditioned one (with a warranty) that costs approximately the same or ideally less than your budget and is the right size, weight and specification for your needs. Look out for discounts and sales promotions.
