    Great Bolwin.
I think I read it somewhere in my investigations but it was brief and seemed - just weird.

I checked a huge variety of adhesives in store today and none safe. Also couldn't find a hamster or budgie ladder  :)
I'll try the wire first and if the air turns blue I'll try the glue.....

Would chicken wire wrapped and moulded around the stones work better? Should also be nice and easy for them to climb out on as will give more grip

Get aquarium sealant the stuff they use to make glass aquariums.  That way you will be 100% confident that it won't harm any aquatic life.  It's completely clear so you won't see it and probably only needs a dab.  Just need to make sure it is fully dry (at least 24 hours) before refilling.

    Something like this

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silicone-Sealant-Marine-Aquarium-Adhesive/dp/B00BBIARNA/ref=sr_1_5?crid=17E6LWCEWKYJU&keywords=aquarium+sealant&qid=1683533170&sprefix=aquarium+sealant,aps,332&sr=8-5&th=1

Phew, the shops are open tomorrow and I'm off to the metropolis in a couple of days so I can explore my/your options.

Haven't had chance to do anything as had to be out again in the good weather yesterday and today at home - it's bucketing down and blowing a hoolie. Wondering if it will ever stop!
