Interactive Investor JISA

Has anyone ever managed to transfer a JISA to Interactive Investor? When I try via their website, the submit button just sits with a spinning icon indefinitely. Their customer service say they are aware of the issue, but can't suggest another way to achieve the transfer. I'm wondering if perhaps they just don't support JISA's yet.

They do offer JISA's but I think you have to be an existing customer, with an existing account you are paying for.1

Yes, I already have a SIPP with II and so it would be free to add a JISA. It's currently with Vanguard which is very cheap but not as cheap as free. However, it appears to be more or less impossible to transfer a JISA to II at the moment. The website just hangs and their customer service appears to be utterly incompetent. They gave me a form to fill in for the transfer and then rejected it because I don't have a JISA with them. They can't tell me how to open a JISA. There doesn't appear to be a form for that. I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if their website recovers. However, the whole experience has left me wondering if I want to move everything from II.0

Looking at their website, it seems you can open a JISA online as an existing customer.

Maybe you should open a new JISA with a minimum amount, and then start the transfer process?1 -
That was my plan, but their website doesn't work at the moment. When you get to the last screen of the opening process, the submit button just spins. They know about the issue, but don't have an alternative way to open a JISA. I'll try again in a few months. Hopefully, they'll have fixed the issue by then. Alternatively, I might just move everything to another provider. Their total inability to help me with this issue has led me to believe that perhaps my money is safer elsewhere.0

Well, we eventually got to the bottom of it. They didn't have my occupation down against my account, and that was causing their website to hang when I tried to add a JISA.0

We had a similar problem opening First Direct Regular Savers from a joint account. Mine opened OK, but the OH's did not despite chasing it up twice. Eventually they ran through some personal questions , ( some quite odd ones), as some facts seemed to be missing although she had been customer for 30 years. Once they did this it worked OK.1

It's amazing how fragile these online systems are. There was a lot of time spent trying to open a JISA with different browsers and operating systems. In the end, their tech support had to open the account with me over the phone. They never actually got their website to work. Hilariously, the transfer stage has to be done via paper as they require a wet signature from me. I think a lot of people must just give up. Tranfering a JISA must not happen very often.0
