TUI Final payment extension

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation as me?
My final balance is due next week but I’m a little short. I’ve had an upexpected cost come up in the past week and that took priority. I get paid at the end of next week and will be able to make final payment then.
I called TUI today and asked if I could pay off the amount I have and then the final amount on my payday.
They said they couldn’t do that, but they could extend my final payment date by 2 weeks. Giving me more than enough time to settle my balance.
Sounds great, but my only concern was that I wouldn’t get an email confirming this conversation. They said when I get the text and email on current final date, to ignore this as they have put a note on my account that a 2 week extension has been applied.
I called back a few hours later and spoke with someone else. I asked if they could tell me what the note on my account said and they confirmed that I have an extension and the new final payment date.
Maybe I’m just being a bit paranoid but I don’t want TUI to cancel my holiday because I went past the original settlement date.
I’m wondering if anyone’s been in a similar situation as I can’t find anything on the TUI site saying about final date extensions.
Thank you in advance.

I understand your anxiety as it isn't in writing, I hope it works out for you. I remember being phoned at work because I'd missed a credit card payment, and had to pay £70 over the phone. When my statement came I had incurred a 'late payment charge' - they'd only taken £7.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Would a credit card payment not settle this ?

Or pay 2 minutes before the store closes by cheque! by the time the store banks it and it clears your money MIGHT be in the bank to pay it.0

It does seem perverse that they wouldn't give you until your next payday to settle it but are willing to extend your final payment by 2 weeks which from what you have told us appears to be later than your payday.I hope it works out for you and that you have a great holiday.0

Boggles the mind that people are living hand to mouth and booking holidays where unexpected bills put them in this position1

Best not be judgemental without knowing the circumstances.

Hopefully the OP will come back and tell us if there's been a happy ending and the holiday is going ahead.
