Hi just a quick question when completing the IHT405 schedule . details of the person to contact about valuation is that me being the executor, or is that the valuer from the estate agent . I do have a copy of his valuation which I will include Thanks

    If you look on the first page:

    'Only fill in this section if the person we should contact is different from the one named on form IHT400, box 17. Ensure that they have the legal personal representative’s authority to be contacted.'

    It's up to you. You can either leave it blank, which means HMRC will contact you with any queries (and you then relay the queries to your valuer), or give the details of the valuer from the estate agent and they will deal direct. I'd suggest the former route, because you then have better control about any queries being asked/ensuring they are answered promptly.

    Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
