Can't get Freeview on

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help please.(technophobe)
I moved place recently and brought along my Samsung TV from 2015.
Broadband went live today (sadly copper not optic). I plug in aerial cable to the relevant socket.
TV works and smarthub works with autoscan I did (iPlayer etc there) adgrr connecting the broadband.
101 etc and other hd channels showed a blank black page.
I rescanned and now pressing channel 101 just takes me back to 1.
How on earth do I get it to work?
I had to get a coaxial TV aerial connector if that is an issue. The new router is in the hallway (there are master sockets also near the TV and bedroom).
There was no issue accessing Freeview with this TV in my previous place which is not far from here.
I tried to call Freeview but they were closed.
To avoid buying a box, firestick etc, is there anything I can do?
I don't have cable or sky TV.
Thanks

Freeview, including HD, doesn't need internet and a router to work. Only an aerial is needed. Are you sure it's fine? If it worked, why did you need a new connector?

Its possible the aerial socket you are plugging into isn't actually connected to the aerial on the roof.3

I needed a new connector because my existing one wouldn't go into the aerial socket, male and male or female and female, or whatever, does that make sense?grumbler said:Freeview, including HD, doesn't need internet and a router to work. I thought for Freeview you need internet? The Freeview website I'm sure states that?0 -

Would I not then be able to access standard definition terrestrial TV if that was the case?0 -

"Channel availability subject to geographic location and coverage. Aerial upgrade and/or receiver may be required. A minimum broadband speed of 2Mbps is required to watch catch up and on demand services – this will count towards any monthly broadband data allowance." - https://www.freeview.co.uk/There is Freeview Play that works through internet, without an aerial.

Is it that you are not getting or the checker says that you cannot get them?

Ah is your TV a smart one with the freeview built into it? If it is it could be that its not connecting up to your internet service, so may need resetting as the settings will be different than those in your old house.monaymadlol said:
