Tenant Deposit Claim

We had a tenant leave recently and they have started a claim for the return of their deposit.
They failed to pay the last months rent along with a long list of other issues leaving the house and garden in a mess and rubbish everywhere.
The deposit covers the last months rent. I have no intention of pursuing here for any extra costs as she has already accrued several CCJs in the last few months. Is there any benefit to me in listing all the other issues with the DPS?

Does your tenancy agreement allow you to deduct unpaid rent?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Yes it does0

I would still list all the damage, rubbish left and condition of the garden before and after the tenant lived in the property.
Hopefully you have a written inventory with photos of video ?

Surely the right thing to do is ensure tenant, if there are debts/costs, gets yet another CCJ so that any other landlord (or lender) considering them as tenant or creditor sees the CCJ history? (When running credit check). Playing your part as a good citizen?
Or are you happy encouraging them with getting away with it? And they'll probably tell other prospective tenants of yours what a soft touch you are?
Genuine considered questions.

Your submission to the deposit scheme arbitrators should list all the costs relevant to a potential deposit deduction, be that missing inventory items, damage, unpaid rent or whatever.
If for whatever reason the arbitrators disagree with one of your claims, the other(s) may succeed.
The alternative is to decline to use the arbitrators, and go to court, again claiming all the potential costs. As artful saya, you may not succeed in getting payment for whatever the court orders, but an additional CCJ will then be applied.
