MET Parking Appeal - Insecure website!
Thanks for the fantastic info and help available on this forum.. Can I get your thoughts on this one?
I am in the process of writing my initial appeal after receiving NTK in the post from MET parking. I have used the template on the Newbies post for this (thank you!) and have evidence to submit. Wording I have written is as follows:
Re PCN number: xxxxxxxx
I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your disgusting predatory conduct to your client landowner, local council and to our local MP.
Note the postal address details on the PCN are NOT correct, as it has the wrong post code
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.
As the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner.
Note a child occupant of the car, who suffers with autism, required additional time to complete their meal. I have attached the child’s autism assessment (redacted) as evidence.
My concern is the web portal that MET provide is not a secure website.
Sorry, I am unable to include the actual url link, but the url address is http not https which means any info sent is unencrypted and insecure.. I am NOT comfortable to send any personal info to them via this method.
I realise I should just probably send the appeal by Royal Mail, but notice the Newbies post advises against this.
Do you think this issue could be used against MET parking in any way.. this is utterly unprofessional and unacceptable these days in my book and will effect ALL info sent to them on their portal, from any appellants
