Hard or Soft Search

I applied for a NatWest current account. A hard search shows on my Clearscore report whereas a soft search shows on my TransUnion report. How can they be recorded differently?

NatWest conduct a hard credit search when applying for a Current Account (its in their fine print). Clearscore obtains information from Equifax not Transunion, so I would suggest that either Transunion have recorded it incorrectly or have recorded it correctly but the wording/category of it is a bit ambiguous, for example if you apply for the Transunion Statutory Credit Report and download the PDF it bunches all of the searches together so you don't really know what is hard and what is soft.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
