Rights after a repair

Hi,
What are my rights after a repair? Our caravan fridge broke down after 9 Years and we had it repaired 3 months ago and it it has broken down again. 3 months doesn't seem like a reasonable time to expect a repair to last. Are we still covered under the Sale of Goods Act?

Is it the same thing that’s broken, or something different? What did the reissue person say at the time?
The consumer rights act has taken over from the sale of goods act, but after nine years and depending on the nature of the repair, you might need to give more details about what’s gone wrong. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
After 9 years you won't have any consumer rights in respect of the purchase of the fridge.
You might have a claim against whoever carried out the repair, depending on what was wrong with the fridge and waht the repairer told you.
Did they say "I guarantee we'll have it working like new again", or did they say "It's nine years old. I'll have a go at fixing it but can't guarantee anything"?0 -
After 9 years I would cut my losses and replace it. It's given good service but when one thing goes wrong it can create what appears to be a chain reaction with other items failing. Unless you can prove the new fault is a repeat of the original there is no comeback on the repair person. Even after 3 months, without a guarantee, it will be down to goodwill.

I'd say repairs on a nine year old caravan fridge are always going to be a gamble (as with many caravan items, such as the boiler or electrical management system).
I've spent £450 having most gas components in my current fridge changed, fortunately the repairs were successful.
On a previous van, I had a few repairs carried out at £100 each, some only lasting for a few weeks before the next failure, eventually the fridge was replaced at a cost of £1,100
I know some experienced vanners (retired and monied) who would simply replace with new, as experience has shown them that repairs are not cost effective or reliable.

It really depends what they did OP, the repair was a new contract for a service, did they replace any parts? If not what did they say they did to repair it?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
