It's a bit of both really - controls to effectively deal with spoofing are contingent on migrating from the analogue phone system, but this entails vast spend within the industry, which can't just be imposed arbitrarily by government or regulators so is being planned collaboratively.born_again said:Does not need political will to stop spoofing. I believe that the plan remains for the old system to be switched off at the end of 2025, but that there are some interim measures being taken to minimise impact:
