UC do you have to report small changes in hrs and earnings?

Every month is a little different a few hours overtime or not sometimes, do you need to report changes like this?
is there a line or a cut off point when you need to report changes?
they see your wage slips anyway don’t they?

Hi uc get informed by the employer but some seem to need to report changes direct, you also usually need to tell council tax if your claiming support discount. Pop a message on your journal to see if you need to submit anything to uc. It’s a minefield so definitely worth checking with uc direct.Life throws you curve balls and kicks you in the teeth… learning to live with weird neurological complications and spine injury and hating fall.2

If you are employed your earnings are automatically reported to UC from your employer via HMRC. There is not need to report minor fluctuations yourself.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2

Thanks so much.
my question is really where is the line between minor changes and changes that need reporting?
If someone is asked to change hours a little occasionally but then you go back to what you were doing it seems not worth reporting?0 -
Is it contracted hours or overtime? My husband only has to report changes to contracted hours, anything deemed as overtime just gets reported via his wages.Yellowsub2000 said:Thanks so much.

it was for like 16 hrs but these days around 300 -
That’s a big difference, would be worth trying to see if you can get your contract updated as presume your missing out on pension contributions if your in a scheme at work and possibly extra leave entitlement so greater issue than just uc.Life throws you curve balls and kicks you in the teeth… learning to live with weird neurological complications and spine injury and hating fall.1

The boss of this company doesn’t want to renew contract for any of employees
lots of people have left the manager has left0 -
Not good so a greater issue then, would touch base with uc to explain, they may even be able to support re work coach and finding out if you can get help with training etc if you are struggling re the situation. Hoping others can suggest better re reporting, our uc only gets updated re contract changes, the overtime gets passed over automatically but I have to update council tax every month.Life throws you curve balls and kicks you in the teeth… learning to live with weird neurological complications and spine injury and hating fall.1

UC don't care how many hours you work or any fluctuations in those hours, they're only interested in what you've earned.
As @calcotti said, If you're employed and paid via PAYE then there is nothing for you to report, UC will be fed your earnings data automatically from HMRC.
