Faulty generation meter

Options

I passed 30000 kwh last week and have noted on my geo several 10 plus kwh days since then so when I looked at my generation meter just after midday I was surprised to see it say 30007.8, since then we added another 4 kwh this afternoon but just checked and it says 30008.4.

Something is clearly wrong, my panels are generating as they should but the generation meter is creeping up at a fraction of its correct speed any ideas what is wrong and who I contact?

Ask your FIT provider what the proceedure is for a meter swap. It'll probably be photographs of both old & new meters & possibly a copy of the NIC certificate of compliance for the electrical work.

Any qualified electrician can change your meter & supply the necessary paperwork.

    Is your installation under warranty?

I have had the system 7.5 years now, the inverter has an insurance backed guarantee of 10 years.

System seems to be behaving so far today, i have generated 0.7 kwh and 0.7kwh has been registered on the generation meter, iboost is sending power to the hot water tank, all good.

But over the last week or 2 i think there is about 90 kwh that was generated but not on the generation meter.

Will watch it it today and make sure all generation is added to the generation meter and will also try to get in my attic to have a look at the inverter to see if there are any faults showing.

Update… Been in my attic, there are spiders in there so it was an ordeal.

Inverter says total 30328 kwh (7.5 years) generation meter says 30012.

Inverter says last month 462 kwh but only 300 added to generation meter?

Inverter appears to be ok, no alarms and sensible data, i think it has done this before when generation has simply not been recorded on my meter.

Overall its only a 1% difference between the inverter and the meter but something seems amiss, any ideas why?

My generation meter shows 5337 but inverter data is showing 4983. That's only 14 months after install and a much bigger % difference.

It's entirely normal for the inverter and generation meter to read different numbers overall, the meter is calibrated, the inverter isn't. That's not to say your meter isn't faulty but a long term difference of 1% is not a problem. A short term difference of 50% is though! I suspect it will be your responsibility and cost to replace but the longer you wait the more you are losing out by the looks of it. My inverter failed and I was very keen to get a new one asap as any delay was costing money and coming into the summer could really escalate.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Its the generation meter thats faulty, i was just in the garage and saw the meter display go to all 8s and come back 5 kwh lower.
At the time 17.7 kwh generated and 12.6 kwh added to the meter.
    Its changing the display.

My SMA inverter reads 1% higher than my gen meter.
I periodically lower the inverter reading to keep the numbers the same.
