(I did a search but couldn't find this…)

I've had a letter from Zurich Insurance saying they are going to discontinue their direct home insurance product as of the end of June.

Any advice on options?

Shop around or if you have a particular love of Zurich then contact a broker and ask them to only quote from Zurich

Sky Home Insurance use Zurich as an underwriter apparently. (Ive never used Sky though, just know from looking at quotes recently).

    Options:

Have a look on comparison sites and find an alternate insurer that provides the same/similar cover or the cover you need. Dont just go for the cheapest and check the policy does actually cover your needs.

I presume it means they aren't taking on new policies after June rather than existing policies will be terminated at the end of June. If it is the latter, you will be entitled to a partial refund, and need to start looking for an alternative insurer.

According to their website they are already closed to new business from Direct customers.

It would be a highly unusual decision to cancel in flight policies, especially when they arent existing Home Insurance. The question really comes down to what they will do at renewal? Will they put the book in run off allowing customers to renew? Simply decline to renew and suggest you speak to BIBA for recommendation of a broker? Sell the renewal rights to someone, maybe Sky given they are the sole underwriter for them.

Thanks DullGreyGuy.  If they have already closed to new business, I'm assuming the OP has a policy which expires at the end of June and Zurich have told them they won't renew.  No other options seem to make much sense.
If Zurich are ending the policy in June irrespective of actual date the policy ends naturally, they will have to refund part of the policy cost, and their customers will have to start looking for a new policy.

It would be unusual, though not unheard of, for someone to simply say they've shut up shop and you'll need to go elsewhere for your renewal. Assuming data privacy notices allow, you'd normally sell the right to offer to renew the business to someone
