Luton Airport Parking Fine - Advice Needed

Hi there, before you ask yes I have read the newbies thread, yes I have looken at others who have also recived claims from Luton Airport, I did even comment on a thread and was told to create my own post.

Yes I have appealed in time, stating I would like to appeal to POPLA, then I received an email stating:

For us to fully consider your appeal please provide us with Drivers full name and address.
Please send the correct information with full name, address and PCN number within 14 days of the date of this letter to
APCOA PARKING, PO BOX 222, LOWTON WAY, HELLABY, SHEFFIELD S98 1NX.

We have placed this case on hold for 14 days to allow you to provide us with the required information. If we do not receive
the required information within 14 days, we will have to make a decision on your appeal based on the information we
currently have available to us, which at present does not justify the cancellation of the PCN

I was told to ignore this which is what I have done, I have now recieved a DRP letter, stating if I don't pay then this will be evidence of my intent not to be pay, YES I KNOW TO IGNORE THIS, but what I don't understand is should I have not received a POPLA appeal code, before recieving a DRP letter. Based on my understanding DRP letters are sent if you don't appeal in time, but I have so I am confused on why they have not sent me the requested POPLA code which I asked for in my appeal. Any advice much appreciated!

  • So I wrote to BPA, they just stated how the appeals process works etc in addition to this:

If you believe that there has been a breach of our Code of Practice by a member of the Approved Operator Scheme you must first submit your complaint directly to the operator using their internal complaints process which can be found HERE https://www.apcoa.co.uk/faqs/, I have managed to find a complaints email address in this document: https://www.apcoa.co.uk/fileadmin/user_upload/APCOA_Complaints_Policy_16.12.2022.pdf, I have noticed on the bottom of page 1 in point 3 it does state that appeals cannot be sent to the email listed. I have sent one anyway, as I am making a complaint about the appeals process and requesting further information required to use the IAS (independent appeals process) in this case a poplar code. I will probably end up having to write a letter and send it by post though. I must admit I am disappointed how useless BPA has been so far.

No worries though.  Nothing will happen except the usual £170 threatograms.  You can forget about it!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Yep I received my second through the post the other day, I was just making a record, in-case I need help later on, but also for other users who might find themselves in the same situation as me, whereby you haven't received a POPLA code after requesting one in your appeal.
