This is costing me over £300 a year. Obviously, this isn't too bad but the people in flats and similar shared places have seen their costs rise exponentially to over £1500 a year. This, in my opinion and that of everyone else on the estate, seems outrageous.
To be fair, the situation is very different for the leaseholders who live in flats.
Their £1500 per year will include things like:- Buildings insurance (whereas you pay separately for your buildings insurance)
- Maintenance and repairs to the building (again you pay separately for that)
- Maintenance and repairs of the common areas
- Cleaning the common areas
- Lighting in the common areas
- If there are lifts, maintenance and repairs of them (which is super expensive)
