Group Nexus parking fine

I have recently received a letter (27th April) concerning a parking fine that I have been issued. I have stayed over the 2 permissible free hours. The fine is for £100 which sounds quite extreme. As I have seen with others, the company states: "We offered to accept a reduced amount if you paid within 14 days but unfortunately we have not received any payment from you, so the amount you need to pay is £100.00. Please pay this within 14 days from the date of this letter.
Now the incident took place on the 20th March. Supposed date of issue was 14th April. The initial first letter and the only letter, I received was as earlier mentioned 27th April. I tried calling the 2 numbers on the back of the letters (one number to pay for ticket & one for general contact us matters), but both were unavailable.
I have seen that many would complain to the landlord of the site of the incident. However, I did indeed stay over the period, however the problem for me is the false idea of them supposedly contacting me before with the chance of paying a lower fee, and then the two telephone numbers being unavailable when seeking advice.
Would appreciate any advice on this!

Don't call parking companies or debt collectors, all the advice you need is in the NEWBIE sticky, the one that is just below where you clicked on "Create Post".

It’s not a fine. Stop calling it that. It’s just a speculative invoice for an alleged debt for allegedly breaching a term in on their signs.

Just write an appeal to them using the exact wording below. No telling them who was driving.
This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do NOT try the usual Group Nexus Trick of asking for driver details in order to get around the fact your NTK does not comply with POFA. As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win @ POPLA. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code where you will auto withdraw

It really is that simple.  That appeal works.

You don't phone and you don't pay.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And I have replied telling you to do exactly what I suggested in my previous post. Just tick "other" when appealing. The PPC will probably get back to you and ask you to clarify whether you were the driver or not and you can just ignore that or tell them to go replicate with themselves. After that response, you are finished communicating with them. If they don't cancel the PCN then you just use very similar wording in your POPLA appeal, smug in the knowledge that they will have had to spend money for giving you a POPLA code and knowing that POPLA cannot allow a non-POFA issued PCN to stand as you are appealing as the RK and cannot be liable.
  • NEXUS have issued a 'parking charge' by post for staying 42mins over 2hours at a MOTO service station. Before reading this thread I unfortunately already appealed to NEXUS and said that I was driving (I can't remember maybe I just ticked a box that said that I was the driver). They have replied saying that my appeal was rejected and that I can now only appeal to POPLA. What should I do now?
