Hi could somebody help. If my partner (we don't live together) claims carers element for me will I loose all of my severe disability premium from my old style ESA. I claim enhanced daily living pip and standard mobility along with esa support group.
This benefit system isn't half confusing!! Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will lose the SDP if someone either carers element of UC or Carers allowance for looking after you. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/severe-disability-premiumno-one gets paid Carer's Allowance (CA) or the carer element of Universal Credit for looking after you (if your carer is eligible for CA but does not receive a payment due to overlapping benefit rules then they do not count);

Thank you Poppy, I wasn't sure as carers element seems to be different to carers allowance.
Many thanks for your time.0 -
Carers element is part of UC and has the same rules carers allowance where the SDP is concerned. (apart from the underlying entitlement rules)
