If they do let you go, you could go for unfair dismissal if the lack of training was a deciding factor in the mistake that may lose you your job.
A month into the job??? I think the OP should absolutely not rely on that as a possible remedy.
Unfair dismissal is unfair dismissal whether it's one day or one month into a job
Indeed, but who are you going to complain to?
Can easily go through HR..even if the message across the board is to get rid of him what ever the outcome is, they still have a process to follow if he was to complain, also third party.

    There's always a way nowadays.
Absent an automatically unfair or discriminatory reason, there is precisely no way and the exceptions seem not to apply here!

So I got this new job a month ago, I'm just at end of my months probation and I've a meeting with this boss tomorrow morning which I think is going to be me getting let go.

Long story short I applied for this job as it stated "No experience necessary full training will be provided" the boss saw my CV and thought my previous jobs would carry over to this, realty is it's not comparable, it's like hiring a vet to work as a GP, similar but different kinda thing.

So I got limited training and was let loose, told to do things a certain way which I did, turns out this way was totally wrong, a major !!!!!! up was made costing the firm thousands.

So I'm up in front of the firing squad in the morning which I've been worrying myself silly about all weekend.  How do I handle it? Is it even worth stating my case? I think they need someone to blame and that's looking like me.
i think it will be helpful to
    (1) first of all wait to hear what the boss has to say before responding
    (2) provide them with a copy of the job description and explain that it stated no experience necessary
    (3) calmy explain that you felt the training was not adequate and no help was forthcoming, also explain how your previous experience did not translate in this particular job.
     Good luck and best wishes

Yes probably the best plan, I may or may not get the road but if I do it will be best leaving on good terms at least.

Only a week ago you were complaining about the toxic workplace and wanted to leave. So why are you worrying about it?
Why? Because in the last week got notice that our landlord is selling our house. Last thing I'd need tbh.

I agree the news about the house is the last thing you need, but actually getting you out of the house can be an extremely long and drawn out process.  I know somebody who's ex-partner was told the same thing by her landlord, she stayed put and it took nearly 3 years to get her out.  Covid probably didn't help the process, but it generally isn't easy to force somebody out of the house.  Speak to either Citizens Advice or your local council as a matter of urgency.  Hopefully at least that issue can be addressed.

Yes but you cannot bring a claim for unfair dismissal with less than two years service, unless the real reason for the dismissal was due to unlawful discrimination (e.g race, gender etc) or one of a very few other protected reasons.

Lack of training isn't a valid reason!

Failure to follow procedure (which you mention in one of your other equally unhelpful posts) could, under some circumstances be wrongful dismissal. That does not have a two year qualifying period. However, the maximum such a claim would yield would be a day or two's pay for however long it would have taken to do it properly.

That assumes that the OP has a hard and fast contractual entitlement to a particular process being followed. That is unlikely, to say the least, as any well written employment contract, company handbook etc, will make it clear that such procedures are not contractual.

Yes there's an update.  Turns out it had sweet FA to do with me, fingers were pointing at the new guy and not my fault at all and I spent the entire weekend worrying about it and sure I was about to get fired, seems to be one of them places that always need someone to blame well sod that, I've got an interview elsewhere next week so hoping something comes of that.

That’s an excellent update @n1guy - hope you can make up for it this weekend (but sneak in some prep time for that interview)
