I've had a Mi Band fitness tracker for around 3 years, and I've noticed that it needs to be charged every 2 to 3 days now. It used to be once a fortnight. Is there anything I can do to recondition the battery?

Also, the display is hard to read in direct sunlight.

If I need a new one, are there any suggestions, please? I'd pay up to £30, say, but would prefer cheaper.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

  • You can pick up a brand new one for £30-40 - later model I imagine but you haven't mentioned which one you have.

Couple of videos on YouTube showing how to change the battery, takes 10 mins if you have all the tools.

I think it's a MiBand 4. I checked out a video, and I do have all the tools.  However, it looks horribly messy. The thing is clearly not intended to be repaired. It only cost around £15 originally, and there's a limit to how much time I can spend on a £15 item.

I think that is about the life expectancy of any fitness tracker or similar device, especially considering:
