Morning all. Think it's 'sleep in Sunday'. I had one of my very rare extra sleeps. Now I'm off for coffee.

Morning All
Sleepy sunday here too Gers!
Miserable weather this morning, food shopping to do then I'll go and collect the little one for a sleepover as I'm off tomorrow and DD has work. I'm going to drive there and bring her back on the train, tomorrow we'll have an adventure on the bus home.
Nice trip out with my friend yesterday mooching about some shops, all stocked up on toiletries now and a new pair of sunglasses from TKMaxx as I appear to have lost my good ones - again!
Great to hear from you Nanny, hope you get well soon and can enjoy your holiday.
Sorry you've still got your drain Jackie, hope it dries up soon.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone
Raining here...I'm hoping it dries up a bit as I want to do some tidying in the garden. Yesterday I was at our local cinema to see The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I really enjoyed it - the ending was filmed where I live which was nice to see.
Eldest DD has just got back from her latest trip to find out she's going to Japan for work in a couple of weeks time...had a good chat last night.
Little one is very excited because we're going to Butlins next Monday.
Going down to sit with dad while mam goes to church so I'd better get dressed. Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here I have stripped the bedding off this morning and got that going in the wm it can be hung out on the line once it’s finished.
We did not do the lights yesterday as it was too nice to be indoors all day, so we did a few jobs around the house and then I jet washed the patio and emptied and refilled my pond while OH took the dogs out, the patio looks so much cleaner now I need to get some summer bedding to fill in a couple of gaps and for my hanging baskets.
Dinner today will be pizza and salad which we will probably have in the garden we have to make the most of this good weather.
I had a think about Nels yesterday when I was moving the pots around, last year she sent me an olive tree which is doing so well, I shall think of her whenever I look at it ❤️Jackie I’m sorry they could not remove your drains, they are horrible things, uncomfortable and cumbersome, sending love xx
Nice to see Nanny posting xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Refreshed! And awake. It's not often that I fall asleep again after an early morning wee but that's when I have vivid dreams, some of which linger with me. This morning my plane to Dubai came down on Loch Lomond, then I got off, went shopping, got back on board then woke up. 😀
My yesterday was rather laid back. I packed things for the weekend in the NE and onwards to Glasgow. Counting knickers took up some time. Only the main small case to do and the tiny wheelie cabin case. Later on I bought an electric scarifier from Screwfix, my lovely gardener and her husband will collect it this week. The hire company only had big petrol ones which are too heavy to use. The downside is that the collection box is rather small, she'll probably leave it off and then rake up the debris instead.DP1 - your DD1 is having a wonderful working life. So much to look back on. Butlins made me smile as my late beloved father and brother went to the Skegness one in the early 60s. I have a photo of them on a double tricycle looking happy.Ruby - lovely memories for you too.Thoughts to all those who are struggling. Happy Sunday to all.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I'm a latecomer but not because of a lie in! I don't know what it is about Sundays that finds me embroiled in 6 jobs at once. My bedding has been washed and already festooning the back bedroom as light showers are forecast but I have yet to do battle with the clean bedding! Lentil & bacon soup has been made for my new week's lunches and an assortment of veg has been prepped for today's lunch. The vac has had a whizz round to pick up all the cat litter that Sparkle sees fit to scatter all over the place after using it! Now taking 5 minutes before emptying the dishwasher.
I think a slothful day may now follow. I was hopeful of a little potter outside but the weather doesn't look to promising.
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. I'm sorry you still have the drain in place JACKIE and welcome back NAN, get well soon. Dp1 your DD is so lucky to have a job that sends her all over the world. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Hello all, after a lovely sunny day yesterday we now have rain again. Thankfully I got all the washing line dry and put away with only 2 things ready for ironing. I even washed my winter sofa blanket but I'll not put that away just yet. I pulled down our holiday clothes case but I need to sort through it as some items are for really hot weather and I'm not sure the middle of May will be that hot. I might make a cake with some browning bananas later or have a day of sloth instead. Minted lamb chops with roasties and veg for tea today.
London 1 I'm so sorry that you still have the drain Jackie. Sending much love.
Have a good Sunday if you can.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly and the missing.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Hi everyone,
I'm still full of cold, I did a covid test yesterday which was negative, thankfully. Steve has spent a long time organising everything so it would have been a shame to have to cancel. He's on the phone now because he had a fraudulent charge on his credit card so that has been cancelled but the hotels will be trying to take payments from it!
We have sold the camper van! It's the best decision for us I think, rather than having it sitting looking reproachful on the drive, we'll use most of the money to pay for other trips.
Nanny, glad to se you, I hope you continue to recover.
Jackie, sorry about the drain and the op.
Have a good day.11 -

Morning...I've been sweeping out th front and general garden tidying after a visit form a lovely boy [ he looked like it, what can I say?] about the tree bane of my life. He'll send me a quote to get it down, I have no idea how much but it won't be cheap. I'm being plagued by itchings at the moment, a side effect of one of the tablets, it's so annoying, plus it's not a good look scratching all the time. No plans yet for the rest of the day, potential stiarcase sanding and waxing, or maybe House of Dragon watching, while I wait for OH to come back from his travels. He went off to play little men with some friends to Nottingham for the weekend. I have some seeds to go through to separate what has yet to be sown and more in case of non appearance and I finally got my yarn bowl. I love it, i's big, heavy and shiny with flowers. Someone there had done a copy of the gargoyle on the pottery throw down, it was really good and the girl who did the bowl said one of her regulars had applied and got through to the second round but was keeping it hush hush..Me describing people as girls and boys means I've reached that invisible line of ageing now where anyone under 35 looks like a child to me..Nanny, nice to see you back but a resounding boo to the health problems. They must be quite severe to stop you from posting for so long so I hope they are in abatement now. And it sounds like you need a holiday to get over the prep for going on holiday...snoozer, good call on the van, I am trying to persuade my sister to do likewise with our inherited one before it rots from disuse. Good intentions dont pay for MOTs..Ruby, how lovely of her. I mostly think of her when I cook, we had some very long discussions about food and favourites...dp1, your d deserves a pat on the back for her hard work..and a bigger suitcase
take care all, it's turned all moserable rainy now so indoors it is for the rest of the day...
