Dealing with account freeze (Santander)

I had similar issue (locked out for a week) but was resolved within 48 hours of lodging official complaint the following week with £75 compensation (didn't have to ask for it) so you should definitely raise a complaint to have your case reviewed+comp
I guess it didn't help you didn't answer the call, they seem to hire foreign office to handle basic security now which sucks but issues are escalated to some back office team which you cant directly call which I assume was the team trying to reach you. Anyways no longer use Santander for anything important.0 -
Not a year in which it's yet viable for mobiles to reliably replace landlines everywhere, apparently!anigys said:I don't have landline (which year is this, anyway?).
FOS don't literally reimburse according to number of hours spent, but just have a tariff reflecting varying degrees of inconvenience:anigys said:I would be surprised if FOS didn't ask them for some compensation after seeing a spreadsheet accounting for 4 hours of talking to them on 22 occasions

LandlinesWe have lost our "copper" landline because of Openreach and now only have phone calls through broadband connection. The result is poor and intermitant landline. When we ring a bank and have to select numbers (eg 1 for yes or 2 for no) it never works. We live in a poor signal area so mobile connection is intermittent. I also question which century we live in.0

In the present century, you can get yourself a mobile service which works over WiFi.Descrabled said:LandlinesWe have lost our "copper" landline because of Openreach and now only have phone calls through broadband connection. That's not correct, wifi calling works equally for incoming and outgoing calls. It's a perfect solution for being able to fully use your phone when you have no coverage but you do have wifi. Check with your network provider.anigys said:I do have wifi calling but I think it only works with outgoing calls.2 -
Doesn't sound like like an official complaint has been raised with Santander yet.
Open an account with s different bank0 -
It's not a solution for someone like me, who is not allowed to make or receive calls while at work. Indeed, not even allowed to have a mobile with them.trient said:

Had an issue in trying to do a switch to Nationwide, using the switching service. Transferring the balance from old account, which was about £120.00, for some reason triggered their AML stuff. Therefore several missed calls, and failure to complete switch.
When I was eventually in the branch, the member of staff was astonished that I'm not able to use a mobile while at work.0 -
TSB coughed up over £750 to me when they messed up their switch over to new system a few years ago.
I could not access money etc.
10p a minute for phone calls, parking ticket refunds as visited branch 3 times and diesel money etc.
£100 each time I had to use another bank to make payments.
£150 for time of work to visit bank during working hours.
Have a list prepared when making you complaint.
Might get £50 or £500.0
