Is thePeople'sPension.co.uk genuine

In order to see what pension they may have for me they've directed me to this page: https://myproducts.peoplespartnership.co.uk/Account/ActivationRequest/ (I've missed out the end) where they want a ton of personal detail.

I'm looking because they sent me a letter with a customer number. When Nest did the same they needed some minimal details to log in and then they proved they had my personal details from employer.

People's pension seem to need you to put all your personal details in first.

So is that website and registration link genuine?

Thanks

The peoples pension is certainly genuine though the link you provided, whilst it does say peoples pension on the page, has peoples partnership in the address.

That's partly why I posted the link as it looked a little odd.

Thanks for that. So that link goes to a page of peoplespartnership.co.uk
That page claims People’s Partnership is the new name for B&CE.

Is that known to be true? Is People’s Partnership genuine?

I'm looking because they sent me a letter with a customer number.

Which you need to insert before you can proceed.

    This is a 7 or 8-digit number.

When your employer signed you up to The People’s Pension, we'd have sent you joiner information with your customer number, either by post or by email. And any letters or emails we've sent you since you joined will have this number on, too.

So, to find your customer number you could try to find a letter from us, or try searching your inbox or junk folder for any emails from members@thepeoplespensionmail.co.uk or members@bandce-mail.co.uk.

Yes.   B&CE have decided to rebrand again and they are mid process.  Rebranding often involves a period where the old and new names are in use at the same time.

    I've got a number from a letter.

Let me word it this way. I illegally find out your name and address. I then send you a letter claiming to be NS Pensions. I send it to the address I illegally obtained. The letter gives you a customer reference number and a link. The link asks you to sign up with your full details including your DOB and NI number.

That's the exact stage I'm at with People’s Partnership. You know my letter wouldn't be genuine. How do I know the link to People’s Partnership is?

Is this link asking for a ton of personal info genuinly from a genuine company who may have a pension for me? https://myproducts.peoplespartnership.co.uk/Account/ActivationRequest/ (I've missed out the end)

Good for you for being wary. Have you ever had a pension with them under their previous name of People's Pension (used by very many employers, especially small ones, for auto enrolment).

If you're bothered about giving so much info, ring them on 0300 2000 555  (open today until 6.00 pm) and explain your concerns so they can help you.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

In order to see what pension they may have for me they've directed me to this page:

Do you mean that you received an unsolicited communication from PP (with customer number) quite out of the blue?

You have never had a pension with the organisation under the former/current name?

If you have had such a pension through an employer, were you sent information from PP as detailed above?

Does it match the number provided by PP?

And did it explain how to set up an on line account?

And the telephone number here is the one cited by Marcon and is linked through the  partnership site to which you have been directed.

But how do you know that it is a genuine number and not one which will take you straight through to a fraudster.... :)

Company address as in link above.

When I tried to set up a bank transfer to Vanguard, Santander Security were very insistent  that I should use the Financial Conduct Authority website to obtain a contact number for Vanguard , then call Vanguard to confirm that the website URL I was dealing with was genuine. You can look up B&CE on that website and it seems to drill down to Peopleas Adminstration Services and that page provides a number.
