Welcome bonus without switching

I wish to open a new bank account, but I don’t want to close down my current one. Are there any banks that are offering a welcome bonus for opening an account? Or do you only get bonus if you switch and close down your current account?

I opened one with Metro bank and switched that to Natwest for £200. RBS has the same offer.
Metro sent the card within 2 days, which you need for the debit card number when switching.

No, never seen a bonus for opening an account- it's for switching an account

If you want to earn some easy money  open another  account with your existing bank and then switch that to the bank you want ensuring you have met the t&cs.
Some need nothing, some need 2 x DDs, some need 2 xDDs or SOs. most need a particular payment within a set time.Your job to check you have everything in order
before switching you need the debit card as the application form asks for certain numerals from it.

I think First Direct used to do a £20 welcome bonus type offer, but it's not currently on offer.

    TSB are on Topcashback: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/tsb-spend-and-save-account/

Read the page carefully as you have to meet certain deposit and Direct Debit conditions to qualify.

Yes, the First Direct welcome bonus seems to be no more. Think it was £25.
As catplan posted, maybe cashback sites have offers, but Kroo have had some neg feedback recently.

We may be on about different FD offers ~ https://www.reddit.com/r/beermoneyuk/comments/ts7aaa/first_direct_get_20_free_without_switching_get/

Someone I know opened a HSBC account after the cut off for the offer, but got the text and £20 bonus anyway - I forgot to check the offer was still around before opening my account. I considered the switch offer, but I opened an account with HSBC in 2021 so I'm ineligible. I don't have a plethora of donor accounts either, so it didn't seem worth risking it. Regardless, I was successful with dropping the Ulster documentation in NatWest, so I should have £600 in switching bonuses on the way shortly!

Ah,  I didn't know about the other FD offer.
Good work on the NW/RBS/UB bonuses, well worth the effort I think.

Some do friend referrals (without switching)

Chase paid £20 to you and your friend if you referred them.

Revolut paid me £140 (2x £70) for referring 2 friends earlier this year.

With Revolut it's more difficult to convince people, because your referred friend doesn't get any bonus and needs to pay £5 for their physical debit card. It's a great card for travelling though, and they don't do credit check (only ID check).
