Natwest Cash Line stop

Hi, i switched to Natwest 2 weeks ago. I went to use my app this am and my current account has disappeared. After several phone calls all they will say is they have made a cash line stop on my account. In 24 hours there will be a update. I have only used the account in supermarkets etc. What could this be? i got paid today and cant view anything or pay bills.

I'm not sure what Natwest Cash Line is?It sounds like Natwest are closing your bank account, in which case the normal course of action is you're told to take some ID to a branch to access your funds.Edit: remembered that Cashline is what RBS used to call their ATM network and cards. Doesn't really help understand what's going on here though. If I were you OP I'd be heading to a branch ASAP, taking some ID and a payslip.0

They have said its to check a transaction and could be due to old debt. I had some debts about 8 years ago these were all paid up with a DMP. Never had this issue before and my credit is perfect now. I am worried as i have had £3k wage paid in today0

If not, get one opened ASAP - Starling and Monzo are very quick and if you live near a branch of Metro Bank they might even be able to provide you with a debit card straight away.Either way you need to get to a branch; at the very least you should be able to access any wages in cash provided you take ID and a payslip.0

I think it must be a fraud check, my wages got paid in and all of a sudden it is un useable. i expect they are checking into it. Very worrying i am concerned about my direct debits and bills being paid0

The advice to go to a branch with your ID and payslip is good - ideally today if you can given there's a Bank Holiday on Monday. Even if the branch can't tell you anything, you should ask them to send a copy of your payslip and ID to whichever department is dealing with your account.col81 said:I think it must be a fraud check, my wages got paid in and all of a sudden it is un useable. i expect they are checking into it. There's probably some blame you might need to accept yourself here for mucking about with your main account and leaving yourself without a backup - but the time for that is when you have sorted the immediate crisis.

I disagree strongly but get the issue sorted before starting the post mortem.

Switches are certainly worth doing, but you need to be canny about it.col81 said:

The usual advice on this forum is not to switch your main account. Open another one and switch that.
