"14 Days Early Pay Discount"

I'm so grateful I've got this forum to turn to for advice.
I went to Castle Point Shopping centre in Dorset with my 4 year old. I didn't see signs that there was a maximum stay of 4 hours. We went for breakfast and then did some shopping. My daughter had a meltdown in H&M and I knew she needed food so we went for lunch. I hadn't planned on staying for lunch, but she needed to rest and eat and this is what took me over the 4 hour maximum.
This happened on the 14th, the letter from UKPC is dated the 18th and I didn't receive the letter until 24th.
The parking charge is £100
The 14 day early pay discount is £40
Today is the last day their discount is applied.
I've appealed via their website today. I filed in their online form and uploaded evidence that I was shopping and eating (receipts and screenshots of bank transactions in lieu of missing receipts).
If they don't reply by 17:00 today should I pay the £60 today (before midnight I presume)?
Or will the discount be on "hold" considering I've made an appeal?
TIA

I have reported your post as it contains personal information. You should take it down asap then repost it once properly redacted.
Anyone seeing your PCN could appeal on your behalf and admit liability.
Nobody here will advise you to pay.
Nobody here will tell you to take note of the mug's discount.
When your appeal is rejected, appeal to PoPLA using all the points available to you from the third post of the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES.
Inadequate signage will feature heavily in your appeal because UKPC signs are always inadequate since the £100 charge is always in tiny font and not prominent.
Get photos of the site and signage in readiness for PoPLA.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks5 -

Doesn't the Q&A section at the start of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST help you to know and have confidence to ignore the 14 days, given one of the Q&A is exactly that?
What happened when you of course complained about this PCN to Castle Point?
That's PLAN A.
See NEWBIES thread. Appeal is not the priority and I'm not sure why you rushed it (you have 28 days to appeal) and most people here with PCNs at retail parks get their PCN cancelled by the landowner easily within that time so there was no rush to try the futile 'appeal' to the ex-clampers.
UKPC won't cancel unless Castle Point tell them to.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad, thank you for your response. I had not seen the Q&A at the beginning of the "parking tickets, fines & parking" part of the MSE forum. Now I can see that they are right there, but it wasn't obvious to me when I was looking for the "create post" button. Now I know where to look if there is ever a next time. I will be aware that on other forums there might be similar Q&As to read through first. I have learnt a lot and for that I am grateful.
I rushed because I didn't know when the 14 days or 28 days began and since the letter took a while to get to me I thought a large chunk of it might have already gone.
After reading your post and then the Q&A I googled Castlepoint parking and this is what I found:
https://castlepointshopping.com/parking-at-castlepoint/
On that webpage Castlepoint writes:
"It is not our intention to fine our genuine customers so we have an agreement in place with the car park management company UKPC, that any appeal received which is supported with evidence of their shopping for the day of the ticket, i.e. Receipts or Bank Statements will have their parking charge cancelled."
I emailed Castlepoint and received a reply:
"With regards to your recent ticket, we do have an arrangement with the car park management company, UKPC that any appeals received by them with supporting documentation, ie a receipt would be cancelled. The appeals process is confirmed on the back of your ticket and on their website
It seems that without knowing appealing through the UKPC website with my supporting evidence was the process to follow according to Castlepoint. I haven't heard back from them, but I'm assuming no news is good news.
