Trimming conifers

I have been quote £800, £990 and £1250 to trim 2 feet off the top and tidy up the front and sides of my conifers as well as removal of the waste. 1 day 1 guy and the £1250 included scaffolding hire.

The trees are 3 meters high and roughly 60 meters in length as it surrounds the property.

Sounds well steep.

East Anglia covers quite a large area. Depending on who you ask, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, along with a good chunk of Cambridgeshire. You may well find that you are subject to the London price weighting...

I don't know whether the quote is fair or not, but I thought big conifers grow by 1 foot per year.  So if I were spending that kind of money I'd want a lot more than 2 feet trimmed off the top.

3m is 10ft.
-2ft is where the actual cut will be so 8ft . At 8ft I am surprised that he need scaffolding (I don't albeit I am not doing 60m, more like 6m). Even so, if they do it regularly they will have their own.

I'm confused why they need scaffolding to trim a conifer. We've just had a quote to cut down 7 trees, and trim back two (one being a conifer) and it's around 1.2k. We're not far from London.
