Will she be charged?

Hi,
My dd1 has been sent a cheque for her birthday which she has paid into her account and it is due to clear tonight. However, the issuer has now said that the cheque may bounce.
My other half says that our daughter will be charged for trying to pay the cheque into her account (she has an under 19s current account with the Lloyds) and then she 'll be charged for going overdrawn when they take the 'charge' out (she only has the account for paying birthday/christmas cheques in).
Is this right? She has paid the cheque in, in good faith. Will she be charged? I've googled this question and can find no evidence to support this.
Thanks for any replies.

Many thanks for that. I did look on lloyds site but could only find charges for cheques issued and then returned. Must be having a senior moment.0
