Nope not had another bill since in fact nothing at all bar a letter asking if I wanted a smart meter.

Ok I have been in current property since summer last year, since then I had the heating on a total of 5 days for a few hours as I live upstairs and neighbours have heating on high even at this time of year.
BG esimated by bill from September to Jan as £100 which is very low of course but the exact reading was more like £30 and when I gave correct reading they said they adjusted it and I was only billed £30,
I went to apply for a new bank account and was turned down due to adverse credit and found out my score has dropped by almost 100 points going and my credit report shows I haven't paid a penny since moving in which is wrong and the amount billed as owed is identical to the original amount they estimated.
I do have a direct debit set up but they haven't taken any cash out!
Not sure what to do exactly as I haven't had a missed payment for anything in over 10 years.

Can you pay that £30 as a lump sum on your online account ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I paid the £30 months ago, but I notice they haven't taken anything off the direct debit I have since the day it was set up last year.I actually was never given details of my account until January myself, it was the social housing landlord who set up the direct debit.0

A little confused re the involvement of your L/L
Does your bank account list the name of your supplier ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
It's social housing, before I moved in they setup the utilities in my name and gave meter readings (I also noted what they were on day I moved in)And yes on my list of direct debits it shows BG setup, I was on pre pay at all my previous addresses and this was only setup at time when I moved in.0

Since you paid that £30 have you had another bill ? If yes why not pay that by a lump sum.
Ignore the DD until its set up properly by BG. In the meantime read the meter regularly and do some basic sums to work out what you owe and out that on one side in a piggy bank.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

DDs are taken monthly but BG may only bill every 6 months.
If they have not taken the monthly DD then your credit report is correct and you are accumulating a new missed payment every month.
Call BG as a matter of urgency !

Have you only paid £30 since you moved in?dekaspace1 said:Ok I have been in current property since summer last year, since then I had the heating on a total of 5 days for a few hours as I live upstairs and neighbours have heating on high even at this time of year.BG esimated by bill from September to Jan as £100 which is very low of course but the exact reading was more like £30 and when I gave correct reading they said they adjusted it and I was only billed £30,I went to apply for a new bank account and was turned down due to adverse credit and found out my score has dropped by almost 100 points going and my credit report shows I haven't paid a penny since moving in which is wrong and the amount billed as owed is identical to the original amount they estimated.I do have a direct debit set up but they haven't taken any cash out!Not sure what to do exactly as I haven't had a missed payment for anything in over 10 years.
Is the bill for gas only?
Or electric only?
Or gas and electric?
I'll assume gas only, since you refer to only having the heating on for 5 days as your only consumption.
How do you heat hot water?
My standing charge for gas is around 30 pence per day, so that alone comes to around £100 per year.
It seems as though you will definitely owe BG something. The best thing will be to contact them and seek clarification and copies of all bills.0 -

What were your meter readings when you moved in? What are your readings today?dekaspace1 said:It's social housing, before I moved in they setup the utilities in my name and gave meter readings (I also noted what they were on day I moved in)
