Virgin V+ Box Question?

Hello

I'm thinking of buying a v+ box from Virgin Media. However, the mini-guide on my set top box hardly ever works (get NO PROGRAM INFO or just now and next) and I don't know if this would affect the v+ box. I rang up Virgin Media and got two different answers from different departments so I'm none the wiser.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Lee

  • as far as i know, this would not effect your new box.
each box would have this feature so it should not relate to your particular account being the cause of the problem.

i found the h-line particularly bad in recent days as i had a v+ installed yesterday and i mangaged to balls up the settings.

i called for advice and was told, check the connections, unplug it and leave for 30secs etc.
when this didnt work i was booked an engineer.

i came on here with my problem and fixed within 2 mins.

called them again to cancel engineer and the Indian call centre couldnt understand this request and it took me 10 mins to cancel it.

somehow i still think he will turn up!!!

sometimes the no programme info stuff does come up we once had it for a whole week!!
is a lot better with the V+ box though it only seems to happen if oh whizzes through the channels istead of using the guide!

Never really had any major problems with ours. It's an excellent device, better than Sky+
It's my problem, it's my problem

Just to add you dont "Buy" it its an installation fee, you rent the box., unlike the Sky box, you dont have to pay after the 1st year for repairs.
Great box, but it does have its little "Glitches", the odd prog dosent record, etc.
  • shouldnt affect it.

one thing i would say is a simple reboot usually fixes this problem, takes about 1-2mins after reboot to show up.

Also got my V+ box about 2 weeks ago and it is GREAT would recommend it to anyone and with the christmas offer i got installion for just £75
  • Rang virgin the other day as a friend had managed to get it for a one off payment of £25. Would only go to £30 but worth a try.Being installed tomorrow!
