Venting Home Address

Why do some websites insist you put in a 2nd line of your address!(street/road name)   Not everyone has one.

Even worse when they insist on street name when you live in the country and do not live on a street.

Or insist on "county", when many postal addresses no longer have a county in the address
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    That's what I mean :)

I thought almost every little country lane had a name.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

We don't, lane with maybe 25 houses along it runs past us for a couple of miles.

    I didn't live on a lane.

I lived on a single rack A road that stretched for 44 miles  with crofts and houses scattered along it.

    I have the same problem.
    My address is:
    Housename (in Gaelic),
    Hamlet Name,
    Town
County (which is incorrectly listed on most autofills)
    postcode.

    The postcode covers 90 properties.

When a firm insists on street name I put in Hamlet Name again.

Years ago we had a failed utility switch. They switched another house with the same name, but different village, postcode etc. It took a lot of untangling so I am very particular.
