Company in administration

I need some advice on Dormeo UK Limited - In Administration and now trading as Dormeo UK the purchaser (United T&C Trading).  I purchased a Dormeo Octasmart+ mattress in the Boxing Day sales after reading great reviews for over a year on this mattress and with current TV adverts still on our TV's as recent as last week.  My original order said 14 days for expected delivery, which turned into 28 days and when that passed I started to be suspicious so contacted customer services to see where by mattress could be expected, only to be told there was a nationwide stock shortage and they could not tell me when to expect delivery of this mattress.  I didn't want to wait so I cancelled my order and was advised on 16/02/23 that they would process my refund in 7-10 working days.  I never received a refund from Dormeo UK Ltd and received a letter from Mazars on 02/03/2023 informing me that Dormeo UK Ltd was now in administration, but that the new Purchaser (United T&C trading as Dormeo) would be in touch to provide an update on my order.  To date I am still waiting for an update as to when I can expect a refund.

I am so upset to see the adverts continuing on our screens and knowing that they are still taking orders for a product that they can not supply.  I have spoken to customer services who have not been affected by the takeover, and when I asked why there was no mention of the company going into administration I was simply told 'it was on our sleep blog'.  After searching for said sleep blog, I found news tab that only seemed to say the company had new owners, and again no mention anywhere on their website that Dormeo UK Ltd was in Administration.  I find this disgusting that the public are being mislead by this company, and customers like me who put genuine faith in them gave them £389 of my hard earned money, to now find myself having to watch their stupid adverts and see the company is still trading albeit they have lost the Ltd as Dormeo UK and I am out of pocket to the tune of £389.  

I am at a total loss as to how to recover my money, as I didn't know about the chargeback scheme until after the 40 day period so my bank can't help.  

I would be interested to know if anyone else had experienced what I am going through now with Dormeo

Sadly they have ceased trading, so there is no company to chase for a refund.

Shame you cancelled the order or you could have used non receipt chargeback as you would have been within the 120 days in February.

The current sales are by the new company who have bought the name but not the debts.

The fact there's a different company trading under the same name is irrelevant to your rights against the old company.

The company you paid isnt still trading, its in administration. 

The company you are seeing on TV is totally independent, they just spent circa £800,000 to buy the brand, stock and data. Unfortunately the company in administration owes more than £900k to preferential creditors and so you as a unsecured debtor wont realistically receive anything
