Intransigence

Prompted by Martin's signpost to deposit £10K with ISBank in their 9 month notice account via Raisin before the deadline tomorrow midday, thus securing the £25 bonus, I went through the process this morning.
However, being the numpty I am, I didn't go via the link on MSE.com, but simply applied directly via Raisin's own site. When I saw no prompt to enter the words RAISIN25 I thought something wasn't right so called Raisin. They informed me of my mistake and said as I had by then successfully registered an account with themselves, there was nothing they could do. I'm not even able to simply request they (or I) delete my account (with no funds having been deposited) allowing me to start again as this infringes money laundering rules and regulations!
I then tried to apply to their better nature (not sure if banks actually have one, but hey I thought I'd give it a try!) politely asking them to recognise my genuine mistake and as a gesture of compassion and good will, honour me with their £25 welcome bonus all the same. You guessed it, the 'computer said no'!
I have been invited to leave the account open as I might be tempted by other future potential promotions, but having now been subject of their exceptionally poor and intransigent attitude to customers, I'll be loathed ever to do so.
Hey people, be warned!

Yes be warned not to make your mistake.
    And to follow their T&C.
Come on they are a business and don’t give money away for nothing.
Punish them and put your money elsewhere.

    Abject nonsense on a stick.
Perhaps the Prudential Regulation Authority should be investigating as it is very concerning that ISBank don't understand how money laundering rules and regulations work.

I feel so sorry for the OP.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • I have since had contact from Raisin customer services and this matter has now been resolved very satisfactory so therefore I wish to detract from my previous comment.
