Missed Capita PIP Telephone Assessment - Cannot Contact PIP

I have had a problem with my phone not working correctly, and I received a message yesterday saying I had a Capita assessment the day after I was suppose to have it (On Monday) I got no letter regarding the Telephone assessment, and my phone is not working for the call anyway (I am getting it fixed on Friday) so I was not ready or aware of the assessment at all, so it has hit me by surprise and at a bad time to not even be able to receive the call from Capita.
I called Capita and explained, and they told me to call PIP and tell them about my phone problem and to tell Capita to re do the assessment which they say would be fine, the problem is I cannot for the life of me get through to PIP, I have called over 15 times, once for 2 hours & 55 minutes but got cut off,, but to get even close to 2 hours I often just get cut off.
I called them back explaining and a nice lady said she will leave a note with her manager but I must keep trying to contact PIP, however it has been impossible for me, and I'm having to use family members phones which has been causing more stress, and I've been reading it's an issue for many people at the moment to talk to them....
I will keep trying, but what is the situation now that Capita have sent to the PIP that they was unable to do the telephone assessment, is that an instant getting my PIP stopped?
This would be a disaster, but I need to know what to do and what to expect as I cannot get through to PIP.
Thanks in advance.

Best time is call is just before they open. At that point, everybody is ready to take a call.Life in the slow lane1

This is from the Cit A website:
"Contact your assessment provider straight away if you can’t make your appointment or if you’ve already missed it. If you’ve a good reason for not going they may reschedule it. The number to contact is on your appointment letter.
There are no rules on what is a good reason for missing an assessment but the DWP should take into account your health and things that may affect you like a family bereavement.
If your PIP claim is rejected because you missed your assessment, you can ask the DWP to change this decision. You must have been given at least 7 days’ written notice of the assessment date (unless you agreed to a shorter notice period)."

So, I'd also go back to the assessment provider and ask if they can reschedule it themselves (due to the difficulties in contacting the PIP line). I'd also mention that you did not receive 7 days written notice.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.1 -

Hi, I finally got through, it was more stress as they cut me off twice again, but another call with 25 minutes I spoke to a nice lady who sent the request to Capita to re do the assesement.
She said at the moment Capita are not sending letters out for written noticed about the assessments to most people? and looking at my phone they actually sent me a reminder message a day after the assessment?
Either way I am getting my phone fixed tomorrow and making sure I'm ready for any unexpected calls, however I am also going to call Capita and ask them kindly to give me proper notice next time so I can be prepared.2
