We have sold subject to contract our flat and are buying another flat. The solicitor dealing with this has asked me to consider searches on the new flat for a fee of £330. Is there any point in doing this as the new flat is in a large over 55s block that is warden controlled. I know that it is of course connected to the drains etc and there will be no chancel fee as there is no church in the neighbourhood. We no not need a mortgage.
